4.7 Million Trees and Counting

Trees are an invaluable natural resource. They beautify our neighborhoods, provide habitat for wildlife, and help to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions.

Since 2005, Apache has donated more than 4.7 million trees to nonprofits and governmental organizations across 17 states through our award-winning Apache Tree Grant Program. We donate trees to a wide variety of organizations, including cities, counties, schools, parks, universities, youth associations, wildlife refuges, and community groups. In the 2019/2020 season, we worked with 54 nonprofit organizations, 10 of which were first-time partners. In addition to neighborhood beautification and wildlife habitat preservation, groups often request trees to support a range of other conservation efforts such as reforestation in areas affected by natural disasters.

Some of our 2019/2020 Apache Tree Program partners included:

  • The city of Las Cruces, NM for community members to plant on their property during this year’s season.
  • Keep Odessa Beautiful for public land improvements.
  • The City of Pecos through the Pecos Housing Authority for parks and other public spaces.
  • The City of Houston and Trees for Houston to beautify public spaces throughout the community.
  • The Astros Golf Foundation, a new recipient in 2019: to benefit the restoration of Houston’s Memorial Park.
  • In 2019, Apache celebrated our annual Trees for Tots program in Midland, Texas, by planting one tree for each child born to or adopted by an Apache employee the previous year. We hope to continue this tradition in the years to come, planting more trees for the entire community to enjoy.

APPLICATION FOR THE 2020/2021 APACHE TREE PROGRAM IS AVAILABLE JUNE 22 – AUGUST 21, 2020.
