ALFONSO LEON, 37, was named senior vice president and chief of staff in August 2012. In his role as chief of staff, Leon will support the delivery of Apache's growth strategy, performance and portfolio management, partner relationships and new business opportunities. He will continue to lead Apache’s planning and strategy teams.
Leon served as vice president with responsibility for planning and strategy since November 2010. He joined Apache as director of Strategic Planning in 2009.
Prior to joining Apache, Leon was a director and head of energy investment banking at Perella Weinberg Partners from 2006 until 2009. Prior to that, he served in various corporate strategy, planning and business development roles at Royal Dutch Shell.
Leon holds a bachelor's degree from Harvard College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
