Apache was recognized on Forbes’ and JUST Capital’s list of America’s Most JUST Companies. The organizations named Apache as an industry leader in the treatment of and engagement with company stakeholders, including communities, shareholders, customers, employees and the environment.

2019 Bruno Hanson/Midland College Environmental Excellence Award
Apache was unanimously chosen by the selection committee to win the award this year for successful efforts in: water management, partnering with Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation for Balmorhea State Park Pool repairs and work with the McDonald Observatory to protect the dark skies.

Apache was named E&P Company of the Year at the 2019 Texas Oil and Gas Awards in Houston. The award recipient is selected by a panel of judges and recognizes a company that demonstrates operational excellence and environmental stewardship, as well as a clear commitment to community engagement and the professional development of its employees.

2019 Chairman’s Stewardship Award – Interstate Oil & Gas Compact Commission
Apache Corporation was awarded the Interstate Oil & Gas Compact Commission’s (IOGCC) 2019 Chairman’s Stewardship Award in the Large Company category for its partnership with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation (TPWF) in support of Balmorhea State Park. Each year, IOGCC, a multi-state government entity, recognizes an innovative project by a large oil and natural gas company that demonstrates positive environmental stewardship.

2016 Award for Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility – Oil & Gas Awards, Southwest & Midcontinent
Apache was recognized for the second consecutive year for demonstrating direct community engagement that resulted in real social benefit to the fabric of the local community that positively impacted deserving individuals or groups in such a way that could be measured.

2015 Award for Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility – Oil & Gas Awards, Southwest & Midcontinent
Apache was recognized for its community outreach, through donations, volunteerism and participation, by a panel of judges that transected the industry. The “overwhelming” vote-getter, Apache received high marks for its “give where we live” philosophy.

2014 Industrial Conservationist of the Year – Brazos Valley Groundwater Conservation District
Apache received the award for its work with the City of College Station and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to purchase effluent, or highly treated wastewater, from the city’s treatment plants. The collaboration resulted in the potential to avoid using up to approximately 1.2 billion gallons of groundwater per year.

2014 NGV Achievement Award – NGV America
Apache received the prestigious 2014 NGV Achievement Award at NGV America’s annual North American Natural Gas Vehicle Conference and Exposition. The award recognizes outstanding contributions to the advancement of natural gas as a vehicular fuel. NGV America is a national trade association dedicated to the development of a growing and sustainable market for vehicles powered by natural gas or biomethane.

2014 Clean Air Champion Award – Houston-Galveston Area Council
Apache was named one of the 2014 Clean Air Champions by the Houston-Galveston Area Council. Apache was applauded for supporting voluntary measures to reduce air pollution and promote regional air quality initiatives. Specifically, Apache was recognized for its efforts to promote compressed natural gas as a transportation fuel.

2014 National Excellence in Rangeland Stewardship Award – Society for Range Management
The Ucross Ranch received the Society for Range Management’s 2014 National Excellence in Rangeland Stewardship Award. A 22,000-acre working cattle ranch in northeast Wyoming, the Ucross Ranch was recognized for improving the way pastures and grazing operations are managed. Ucross is operated by the Apache Foundation, a nonprofit subsidiary of Apache Corporation.

2014 NGV Global Champions Award – NGV Global
Frank Chapel, former director of Natural Gas Transportation Fuels, was honored as one of eight NGV Global Champions for 2014. Chapel, who retired, was recognized for significantly advancing the use of natural gas as a vehicular fuel and promoting an increased presence of natural gas vehicles.

2013 U.S. Secretary of State’s Award for Corporate Excellence
Apache’s Egypt Region was named a global finalist for the U.S. Secretary of State’s 2013 Award for Corporate Excellence for its corporate social responsibility programs, including its efforts to provide educational opportunities for girls in Egypt’s rural communities. An interagency committee chaired by the State Department chose 12 U.S. companies as finalists from 42 nominations submitted by U.S. ambassadors around the world. Apache was named a finalist for its “exemplary corporate citizenship, innovation and distinguished contributions to the overall growth and sustainable development of the local economy in Egypt.”

2013 Chairman’s Stewardship Award – Interstate Oil & Gas Compact Commission
Apache received the 2013 Chairman’s Stewardship Award from the Interstate Oil & Gas Compact Commission for its use of wireless seismic technology in Alaska’s Cook Inlet. Apache was nominated for the stewardship award by the Alaska Oil and Gas Association. The company’s submission was entitled “Using Wireless Technology to Overcome Environmental Challenges in Alaska’s Cook Inlet.” Apache’s Cook Inlet 3-D seismic program employs the industry’s first true cable-free wireless seismic technology to acquire 3-D seismic data in order to limit disturbance of communities, wildlife and the environment in the Cook Inlet area.

2013 Vanguard Award – Keep Oklahoma Beautiful
Apache received the Vanguard Award for Environmental Excellence from Keep Oklahoma Beautiful after it selected six nonprofit organizations and two local municipalities to each receive a free vehicle conversion to compressed natural gas. The Vanguard Award “is presented to a person, institution, community or business for embracing cutting-edge technologies and concepts in support of a sustainable planet.”

2013 Highly Commended Award – Australian Petroleum Production & Exploration Association
Apache received the Highly Commended award at the 2013 Australian Petroleum Production & Exploration Association (APPEA) National Oil & Gas Safety Conference. Apache’s entry, “Giving and Receiving Feedback on HSE – the HSE Feedback Card,” provides a simple and effective way of seeking and giving feedback on health, safety and environment (HSE) matters and recording the information in a database for future use. The APPEA 2013 Health and Safety Awards recognize achievement, innovation and commitment to improving health and safety performance and culture in the Australian oil and gas industry.

Corporate Sustainability Reporting Award 2012 – British American Business Council International
Apache was selected for the Consul General’s Award for Corporate Social Responsibility for charitable, philanthropic and cultural exchange work in the United Kingdom and United States.

2012 Certificate of Recognition in Safety – Alberta Human Services
Apache Canada achieved the 2012 Certificate of Recognition in health and safety from Alberta Human Services. The process involves a review of procedures, policies, practices, site tours and staff interviews.

The Apache Foundation Tree Planting Program Day – State of Oklahoma
Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin declared August 30, 2012 as “The Apache Foundation Tree Planting Program Day” in gratitude for Apache’s support in reviving the weather-damaged Oklahoma landscape due to wildfires, tornados and ice storms. Apache has donated thousands of trees to communities throughout the state.

2011 Environmental Performance Award – Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers
The Debolt Water Treatment Plants located in British Columbia received the 2011 Environmental Performance Award from the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers. Apache and partner Encana Corporation had the innovative idea to tap into the Debolt reservoir, a deep subsurface, non-potable aquifer, for the companies’ water needs rather than tap freshwater near the surface. A first-of-its-kind water treatment plant was developed and now supplies more than 95% of the water required for hydraulic fracturing operations at Horn River.

2011 Corporate Citizen of the Year Award
Apache received the 2011 Corporate Citizen of the Year Award for its contribution to wildlife preservation and community sustainability through the Apache Foundation Tree Grant Program. Apache started the tree grant program in 2005 and has donated millions of trees to nonprofit and community groups in 16 states.

2011 Golden Gecko Award Finalist – Western Australian Department of Mines and Petroleum
The Devil Creek Development Project in Western Australia was named a finalist for the 2011 Golden Gecko Award from the Western Australian Department of Mines and Petroleum. Devil Creek tied together construction and operation of an offshore wellhead platform, an offshore gas pipeline, an onshore gas pipeline and an onshore gas processing plant. The ecological benefit of the project was in its design and implementation. Rather than dredge the gas pipeline route as it crossed the sensitive beaches at Gnoorea Point, Apache used horizontal directional drilling techniques to drill underground and minimize the impact on an environmentally sensitive area.

Offshore Leadership Award 2010 – The Mineral Management Service
The Offshore Leadership Award was presented to Apache’s Gulf Coast Region for commitment to safety and the environment as part of a committee that enhanced the Mineral Management Service’s ability to continue meeting its safety and environmental objectives.
