Apache’s worldwide offices have initiated a program to collect monetary donations for organizations assisting Haitian earthquake victims. Organizations include International Medical Outreach, Project Cure, the American Red Cross, the Canadian Red Cross, the Australian Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders, the Salvation Army, World Vision, and Save the Children Canada.
Employee donations will be matched by the company’s matching gift program through the end of January.
In addition, Apache is donating $75,000 to International Medical Outreach to purchase five Emergency Medpacks, which will be delivered to Haiti by late January. Each pack contains medical supplies and medications to treat 10,000 people on an emergency basis, as well as provide for their medical needs for an additional three months.
Apache is also donating $60,000 to Project Cure to sponsor the shipment of three containers of medical supplies and equipment worth $400,000 each to be delivered to Haiti within the week.
Apache Houston has maintained a longstanding relationship with Project Cure, supporting the organization both financially and with volunteer support for several years. Each month, a crew of Apache volunteers spends an afternoon at the Project Cure warehouse in Houston, sorting and packing medical supplies for shipment abroad.
