In 2011, development of the Reindeer field discovery was completed with first production in December upon completion of the Devil Creek Gas Plant. The plant is Western Australia’s third domestic natural gas processing hub and the first new one in more than 15 years. The two-train plant is designed to process 200 million cubic feet of gas per day (MMcfd) from the Apache-operated Reindeer field. In 2009, Apache entered into a gas sales contract covering a portion of the field’s future production. Under the contract, Apache and its joint venture partner agreed to supply 154 billion cubic feet of gas over seven years at prices substantially higher than we have historically received in Western Australia. Apache owns a 55-percent interest in the field.
