Apache Energy has been operating in Western Australia (WA) since 1993 and has a strong focus on maximising its production of natural gas and crude oil from all existing production facilities. Apache currently produces a total of approximately 350 terajoules (TJ) per day of gas and 20,000 barrels (Bbls) per day of oil from its Australian assets. Apache’s net share of domestic gas supply presently accounts for approximately 20 percent of domestic demand.
This share is forecast to increase to approximately 40 percent once the Reindeer development has been completed and the Julimar/Brunello and Macedon gas fields be developed. The figures below show the share of domestic gas market by seller:

Currently, Apache has approximately 20 gas contracts with customers including NewGen Power, Newcrest, Energy Developments LNG, Alcoa and Pilbara Iron. Oil production from the Varanus, Legendre and Stag fields is sold to a variety of customers throughout Australia and Asia via a combination of term and spot sales.
