Argentina became our latest core area following two significant acquisitions in 2006 that substantially increased our presence in the country. Our oil and gas assets are located in the Neuquén, San Jorge and Austral basins of Argentina.

Apache's commitment to stewardship spans five decades and reaches from environmental responsibility to the multi-faceted goal of leaving the world a better place. Employees in our Argentina region volunteer their time or provide financial support through the Apache's matching gift program to numerous education, civic and charitable causes in their communities.
Apache and the Asociación Civil Responde have partnered to promote revitalization of rural towns of the Province of Neuquén that face declining population and diminished economic opportunities. Since 1999, the Asociación Responde, an NGO, has worked with rural communities with fewer than 2,000 inhabitants.
The early objective of the alliance is to launch the Program of Self-Sustainable Towns, a program to address adequacy of food supplies that was started in 2007 in the Pampas region. In Neuquén, the “Self-Sustainable Towns” proposal has set a goal of reaching 54,000 direct and indirect beneficiaries.
Almost 100 students in Rio Grande, Tierra del Fuego, benefited from Apache’s support of a scholarship program sponsored by Fundacion Cimientos. The aim of the program is to encourage students form low-income to participate in the formal education system because education is the key to overcoming poverty.

Apache Argentina was a proud sponsor of “Tools for the Future,” a teacher training activity, which is part of a national campaign coordinated by the Ngo Fundar Calidad de Vida (FU.CA.VI) that provides books, curriculum and teacher training for local schools.
